Sugathakumari teacher, was a committed conservationist; founder secretary of 'Paristhithi Samrakshana Samithi, Indian poet and activists. In commemoration to her interaction with various environmental protection movements a sapling was planted on her birthday (22/01/2021) by Biodiversity Club members in association with Zoology department in S.N College, Butterfly Park. One of the students recited Sugathakumari teacher's poem 'Marathinu Stuthi' (Ode to a tree).
