The Department of Microbiology, Sree Narayana College, Alathur, organized an Extension Activity titled Water Quality Analysis from *15th July 2025 to 31st July 2025 at the Microbiology Laboratory.
The main objective of the programme was to test and analyze various water samples collected from Kavassery Panchayat in order to assess their quality and safety for public use. During the two-week period, students and faculty members actively participated in the testing process, which involved microbiological and physicochemical analysis.
The activity aimed to create awareness about the importance of clean and safe drinking water and to provide the local community with accurate information regarding the condition of their water sources. It also gave students an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in water quality testing techniques and in interpreting laboratory results.
The results of the analysis were documented and shared with the concerned local authorities for further action. The programme successfully combined academic learning with community service, fulfilling the department’s commitment to social responsibility.
Overall, the Water Quality Analysis Extension Activity proved to be both scientifically valuable and socially impactful, benefitting the students, the college, and the local community alike.
