NSS is Asia’s largest voluntary organization working in educational institutions for developing the personality of students through community service. It was started on 24th Sept. 1969, the birth centenary year of Mahatma Gandhi. Its motto is ‘NOT ME BUT YOU’. It is a broad platform for augmenting and channelizing the faculties of the youth. It has a moral purpose to inculcate noble civic values in the young minds It upholds the need for selfless service, instills a sense of consideration to fellow human beings and the welfare of the society as a whole. Programmes like seminars, blood donation camps, AIDS awareness programme etc. are executed every year. A seven days’ annual camp is held and the active participants get certificates and bonus marks for admission to higher studies.
