Report on Nature Walk to Athirappilly Waterfalls

1. Introduction

The NSS Unit 37/117 of Sree Narayana College, Alathur organized a Nature Walk to Athirappilly Waterfalls on 12th August 2025. The program aimed to promote environmental awareness, physical wellness, and an appreciation for nature among the students.

2. Objectives

  • To encourage students to connect with nature and understand its ecological significance.
  • To create awareness about biodiversity and the importance of conserving natural habitats.
  • To promote team spirit and physical fitness through an outdoor activity.

3. Program Details

The NSS volunteers participated in the nature walk. The group was accompanied by the NSS Programme Officer and faculty members. The walk covered scenic trails around the waterfalls, allowing participants to experience the lush greenery, unique flora, and the refreshing climate of the Western Ghats.

During the walk, volunteers discussed environmental conservation topics and engaged in informal clean-up activities along the trail, reinforcing the message of preserving natural spaces.
