S.N. COLLEGE, ALATHUR, HONOURED FOR HOSTING SUCCESSFUL NATIONAL TRIBAL CONGRESS

ALATHUR, PALAKKAD – Sree Narayana College, Alathur, has been formally appreciated by the Kerala Institute for Research, Training and Development Studies of Scheduled Castes & Scheduled Tribes (KIRTADS) for successfully hosting a three-day National Tribal Congress. The event, titled “Tribal Susceptibility, Wild Edibles and Traditional Food Systems for Sustainable Health”, was praised for its punctuality, academic precision, and tribal-friendly approach.

In a letter dated September 22, 2025, Dr. S. Bindu, Director of KIRTADS, extended her “hearty congratulations” to Dr. Praseeja Cheruparambath, an Assistant Professor in the Department of Zoology at S.N. College, for her tireless commitment and leadership as the convenor of the congress. The letter also specifically highlighted the active involvement of tribal representatives and the high-quality research papers presented during the event.

Dr. Bindu’s letter noted that the Conference Proceedings Book, which was compiled and peer-reviewed in a short time, was a “remarkable achievement and a testimony to the hard work of the conference secretariat”. KIRTADS also extended its appreciation to the college’s Principal Dr. Praveena Vijayan, Chief Advisor Dr. Ravindran, UNESCO Chair Dr. Pushpalatha, and the entire college community for their collective efforts that led to the program’s success.
