Alathur, 2025:
The Department of Zoology, Sree Narayana College, Alathur, organized a Certificate Course and Internship Training on “Molecular Application in Forensic Science.” The programme was designed to provide students with hands-on experience and advanced knowledge in the use of molecular biology techniques in forensic investigations.
The course covered various aspects of forensic molecular analysis, including DNA extraction, PCR amplification, electrophoresis, and genetic profiling, along with discussions on the application of these techniques in crime detection and biological evidence analysis.
The training sessions were conducted by experts from the field, offering participants a valuable opportunity to integrate theoretical understanding with laboratory-based practical skills.
The initiative, coordinated by the Department of Zoology under the guidance of Dr. Arathy Sasikumar, Head of the Department, aimed to enhance the employability and research aptitude of students by introducing them to the interdisciplinary applications of molecular biology in forensic science.
The department extended its gratitude to the college administration and all resource persons for their support in making the programme a success.
