The National Service Scheme units of Sree Narayana College, Alathur organized an Orientation Programme for NSS volunteers on 19 November 2025 at the college Open Auditorium. The session aimed to familiarize newly enrolled volunteers with the vision, mission, and activities of NSS, and to inspire them to actively participate in community-oriented initiatives.
The programme was inaugurated in the presence of faculty members and NSS Programme Officers. The resource person for the session was Muhammed Shafi T, Assistant Professor of History, EMEA College of Arts and Science, Kondotty. In his address, he highlighted the importance of social responsibility, leadership, and teamwork in shaping responsible citizens. He also explained the structure of NSS, the motto “Not Me But You,” and the wide range of outreach activities carried out under the scheme.
The interactive session enabled students to understand the values of volunteerism and community service. Volunteers enthusiastically participated in discussions and shared their expectations and aspirations.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to the resource person and the college administration for their support. The orientation marked a motivating start for the new batch of NSS volunteers, encouraging them to contribute meaningfully to society.
