Alathur:
The PG Department of English, Sree Narayana College, Alathur, in association with IQAC and the Debate & Quiz Club, organised a debate titled “Guardians or Gatekeepers? – The Social Media Ban Debate” on January 23, 2026, at Gurukripa Hall.

The programme began at 11:30 AM and was open to college students. The debate aimed to encourage critical thinking and articulate expression on the contemporary issue of social media regulation and its impact on freedom of expression and society.

The event was held under the guidance of Principal Dr. Praveena Vijayan. Dr. S. Dhiva, IQAC Coordinator, and Ms. Remya Rajan E, Head of the Department of English, provided academic support for the programme. The event was coordinated by Mrs. Dana Narayanan, Coordinator of the Debate & Quiz Club.

Students actively participated and expressed diverse viewpoints, making the session lively and thought-provoking. The programme successfully fulfilled its objective of promoting intellectual engagement, debate culture, and effective communication among students.
