Sree Narayana College Alathur to Organize Advanced GIS and Remote Sensing Programme

Sree Narayana College, Alathur, affiliated to the University of Calicut and re-accredited by NAAC with an A Grade, is organizing a one-day training programme titled “Advanced GIS and Remote Sensing Applications.” The programme is being conducted by the Department of Environment and Water Management in association with IQAC and PTA.

The programme will be held on 30 January 2026, from 10:00 AM to 3:30 PM, at the Computer Lab of the college. Sri Royal Tata, GIS Expert from the Division of GIS, Tamil Nadu Forest Department, Chennai, will serve as the Resource Person.

The training sessions will cover topics such as introduction to GIS, geo-referencing of vector and raster data, digitization of thematic layers, data extraction from raster images, data import and extraction using Google Earth, and advanced mobile applications.

The programme aims to enhance practical knowledge and technical skills of students and researchers in the field of geospatial technology.
