



Alathur: The Department of Microbiology, Sree Narayana College Alathur, in association with IQAC, is presently conducting a special academic programme titled “Assessment of Bacteriological Quality of Street Vended Food Available in the Local Market.” The session is being held from February 4 to 11, 2026, at the Microbiology Laboratory.
The programme focuses on creating awareness about food safety by scientifically analysing samples collected from local street vendors. Students actively participate in sample collection, culturing, and microbial analysis under faculty guidance, gaining hands-on laboratory experience.
The initiative aims to sensitise learners to public health issues while strengthening their practical skills in microbiological techniques. The ongoing session has received enthusiastic participation from students and appreciations from faculty members for its relevance to community health and applied learning.
