Alathur, June 5, 2026: The Department of Botany, Sree Narayana College Alathur, in association with the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) and Biodiversity Club, will organize a Seed Ball Making Workshop on June 5, 2026, in observance of World Environment Day.
The workshop will be held at the Botany Lab and aims to promote environmental awareness, biodiversity conservation, and sustainable ecological practices among students and the wider community. The programme is designed to provide hands-on training in the preparation of seed balls, an eco-friendly method that supports afforestation and habitat restoration.
Dr. Sureshkumar K. A, Associate Professor and Head, Department of Botany, Government College Chittur, will attend the programme as the Chief Guest and will deliver a talk on the significance of environmental conservation and the role of youth in building a sustainable future.
The event is being organized under the guidance of Dr. Praveena Vijayan, Principal, Sreenarayana College Alathur. Dr. R. Bindu, Head of the Department of Botany, will oversee the programme, while Dr. Binumol M serves as the Coordinator. The programme is supported by Dr. S. Dhiva, IQAC Coordinator, and Dr. Shereena J, Organising Member.
The organizers expect active participation from students and members of the Biodiversity Club. The workshop is intended to inspire environmental responsibility and encourage practical contributions toward increasing green cover and protecting biodiversity.
The college community has been invited to participate in the programme and join the global observance of World Environment Day through meaningful environmental action.
