Dr. Sumesh R. V. Achieves Dual Academic Distinction in Research and Public Service

Alathur: Sree Narayana College, Alathur, has added another feather to its cap with the remarkable achievements of Dr. Sumesh R. V., Assistant Professor, who has recently attained recognition in both academic research and public service training.

Dr. Sumesh successfully completed the three-day District Level Training Programme for Field Trainers of Census 2027, organized by the Office of the Principal Census Officer and District Administration, Palakkad, from 21 to 23 May 2026. The intensive training programme prepared participants to serve as field trainers for the forthcoming Census 2027 operations, highlighting their role in ensuring the effective implementation of one of the nation’s largest data collection exercises.

Adding to this accomplishment, Dr. Sumesh has also published a research article titled “Pyrazolo[3,4-b]quinolinone fluorophore for selective detection of picric acid via fluorescence quenching” in the internationally reputed journal Synthetic Communications. The research, co-authored with fellow researchers, contributes to the field of synthetic organic chemistry and chemical sensing by developing a novel fluorophore for the selective detection of picric acid, a compound of environmental and industrial significance.

The simultaneous achievement of contributing to a prestigious international publication while actively participating in a national-level census training programme reflects Dr. Sumesh’s commitment to excellence in both research and public engagement.
