Alathur, June 19: Sree Narayana College, Alathur, witnessed an exciting blend of creativity and financial awareness as the RBI Reelathon 2026, organized by the Department of Commerce in association with the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), Thiruvananthapuram, was held today at Gurukripa Hall.
The event brought together talented undergraduate and postgraduate students from across Kerala and Lakshadweep, who showcased their creative abilities through short videos addressing critical financial issues such as illegitimate loan applications, mule accounts, and digital financial frauds. The competition aimed to promote financial literacy and cyber awareness among the younger generation through innovative digital storytelling.
The programme was inaugurated in the presence of academic leaders, faculty members, and student participants. Throughout the event, students demonstrated remarkable creativity and social responsibility by producing engaging content that highlighted the importance of safe financial practices in the digital era.
Speaking on the occasion, college authorities noted that the initiative serves as an effective platform for spreading awareness about financial scams while nurturing students’ communication, media, and critical-thinking skills. The organizers appreciated the enthusiastic participation and the high quality of entries received.
The programme was conducted under the leadership of Principal Dr. Praveena Vijayan, with Binu Udayakumar serving as Coordinator. Arun Ajith and Dr. S. Dhiva also played key roles in the successful organization of the event.
The RBI Reelathon 2026 stands as another milestone in the institution’s commitment to fostering innovation, creativity, and social awareness among students. The event reinforced the message that informed citizens and financially aware youth are essential for building a safer and more secure digital future.

Students can use their creativity to create and submit short reels on the following themes:

The entries will be subjected to rigorous selection process and the best entries will be judged in a Gala Event. The top three participants will be awarded cash prizes. Surprise gifts are also in store for the top viewed reels.
