Department of Microbiology Conducts Water Quality Analysis for Community Health

Alathur, July 30: The Department of Microbiology, Sree Narayana College, Alathur, in association with the IQAC and Kavassery Grama Panchayath, has commenced a Community Health Awareness Programme on Water Quality Analysis.

As part of the extension activity, water samples collected from various households in Kavassery Grama Panchayath are being scientifically analysed at the Microbiology Laboratory of the college. The programme, which runs from 30 July to 5 August 2026, aims to assess the quality and safety of drinking water, thereby promoting public health awareness and encouraging safe water practices.

Faculty members and students of the Department of Microbiology are actively involved in the collection, testing, and documentation of water samples. The initiative also seeks to educate the community on the importance of regular water quality monitoring, hygiene, and preventive measures against water-borne diseases.
