The Department of Physical Education of Sree Narayana College, Alathur, is organising an Inter-Department Chess Competition as part of Annual Sports 2026 on 17 September 2026.
The competition will be held at Gurukripa Hall from 10.00 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. The event is intended to provide students with an opportunity to demonstrate their strategic thinking, concentration and sporting skills while promoting healthy competition and active participation in campus sports activities.
The Inter-Department Chess Competition forms part of the college’s Annual Sports 2026 programme and is expected to bring together students from different departments of the institution. The event will also contribute to encouraging participation in indoor sports and fostering a spirit of sportsmanship and camaraderie among students.
The programme will be conducted under the guidance of Dr. Praveena Vijayan, Principal, with Dr. S. Dhiva, IQAC Coordinator, extending institutional support. Dr. Aneesh, Head of the Department of Physical Education and Sports Coordinator, will coordinate the competition.
The college community looks forward to an engaging and competitive chess event, with students getting an opportunity to showcase their skills on the chessboard.
