



Alathur, September 18, 2026: The Department of Chemistry, Sree Narayana College, Alathur, in association with the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), observed Ozone Day on 18 September 2026 with a series of creative and knowledge-based competitions for students.
The celebration was organised around the theme “Healthy Ozone, Healthy Planet”, with the objective of creating awareness among students about the importance of protecting the ozone layer and promoting environmental responsibility through creative and educational activities.
As part of the celebration, students participated in a Poster Making Competition, held at Room No. 45, and a Quiz Competition at Guru Kripa Hall. A Reel Making Competition was also organised, encouraging students to communicate their ideas on ozone protection through digital media. The reel competition focused on creativity, relevance to the theme, originality, and clarity of audio and visuals.
The competitions provided students with opportunities to express their creativity while engaging with an important environmental theme. The activities also encouraged students to explore scientific and environmental issues through art, quiz-based learning and digital content creation.
The programme was conducted under the guidance of Dr. Praveena Vijayan, Principal, Dr. S. Dhiva, IQAC Coordinator, and Dr. Sumesh R. V., Head of the Department of Chemistry. The event was coordinated by Dr. Vidya B., Mrs. Remya L., Dr. Ambili K. U. and Mr. Vinod K. V., with Ms. Niranjana E. N. serving as the Student Coordinator.
The Ozone Day celebrations concluded as an engaging academic and creative initiative, providing students with a platform to combine scientific awareness, environmental consciousness and creativity.
