Alathur, September 24, 2026: The National Service Scheme (NSS) Units 37 and 117 of Sree Narayana College, Alathur, are organising a series of activities in connection with NSS Day, focusing on social responsibility, cleanliness and community engagement.
As part of the celebrations, the NSS units are conducting two programmes aimed at encouraging students to actively contribute to society and the environment.
The first programme, “Thoofan Commando,” is scheduled for 24 September 2026 (Thursday) from 1.30 p.m. onwards at the Government Victoria College Campus, Palakkad. The programme involves district-level participation and will provide NSS volunteers with an opportunity to take part in a coordinated community-oriented activity.
The second programme, a Cleaning Drive, is scheduled for 25 September 2026 (Friday) from 1.30 p.m. onwards. NSS volunteers will undertake cleaning activities in the college campus and nearby locality, promoting the importance of a clean and healthy environment.
The initiative highlights the NSS message “Not Me But You” and focuses on values such as social responsibility, a healthy environment, a clean campus and sustainable development. The cleaning drive is intended to encourage students to take active responsibility for maintaining cleanliness in their surroundings.
The NSS Day programmes provide volunteers with opportunities to engage in community service and demonstrate the spirit of “Not Me But You” through practical activities.
