Department of Botany & IQAC Host Bridge Course for First-Year B.Sc. Botany Honours Students

ALATHUR — To facilitate a smooth academic transition from higher secondary education to undergraduate studies, the Department of Botany at Sree Narayana College, Alathur, in association with the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), organized a comprehensive Bridge Course for First-Year B.Sc. Botany Honours students on Monday, 5th October 2026.

The session commenced at 1:30 PM in the Botany Laboratory.

Program Objectives & Methodology

The primary goal of the Bridge Course was to establish a strong foundational understanding of plant sciences among newly admitted undergraduates. The interactive curriculum covered:

• Foundational Concepts: Re-orienting students with essential botanical concepts, fundamental plant anatomy, and taxonomy.
• Academic Orientation: Introducing the scope, career prospects, and higher education avenues in Botany.
• Practical & Lab Exposure: Familiarizing students with laboratory tools, microscopic equipment, specimen handling, and safety protocols required for practical work in the B.Sc. Botany Honours curriculum.
