On November 22, 2024, the National Service Scheme (NSS) unit of Sree
Narayana College, in collaboration with the Rotary Club, launched a
plastic waste disposal program. The initiative aimed to promote a clean
environment and raise awareness about the adverse effects of plastic
waste on human health and nature.
The program was inaugurated by PP Sumodh, MLA of Alathur, at 10:30
AM. In his welcome address, he emphasized the importance of
maintaining a clean environment and addressing plastic waste
issues.
Mr C Jaiprakash, President of the Rotary Club, addressed the gathering,
highlighting the significance of the program and the role of authorities in
promoting awareness. The event saw participation from over 15 people,
including Principal Praveen Vijayan, NSS Program Officers Miss
Sridhanya and Srijith, as well as students from the college,
The installation of plastic bins was well-received by the participants and
students, marking a positive step towards effective plastic waste
management in the college
