Honey Bee Club of Sree Narayana College Alathur organised “Display and Sales of Value-added
Products of honey” on 29/02/24, at College Portico. The programme was inaugurated by Principal Dr
N S Rajendran at 10.30 am on behalf of the students and colleagues. The Coordinator Dr. Praseeja
Cheruparambath, handed over the peper tulsi honey to the principal. She gave a brief overview of
the extension activities of the Honey Bee Club, farmers’ harvesting skills, the journey of the Honey
Bee Club in the college and its activities. The appreciation given by the NAAC peer team during the
visit gave us fuel for our extension activities. The members of the Honey Bee Club Lt. Dr Shereena J
and Ms Deepa K co-ordinated the programme well which became a great success.

The students were very much delighted by the taste of amla honey, which got high demand, as other
value-added products like kanthari honey, pomegranate honey, pepper tulsi honey, garlic honey,
bee wax etc. All products are produced by the farmers of Honey Bee Club, and it becomes a great
economic benefit for them by our initiative. The appreciation given to the honey bee club by the
NAAC peer team for our extension activities was fuel for conducting such programmes

It was a wonderful experience for students and teachers as they got pure and non-non-adulterated
honey and its products. Students experienced and enjoyed the selling of products with great
pleasure.
