Sree Narayana College to Organize Orientation Programme on SWAYAM Platform and MOOCs

The IQAC and SNCA SWAYAM Team of Sree Narayana College, Alathur, will organize an orientation programme titled “Introduction to SWAYAM Platform and MOOCs” on 10 July 2026 (Friday) at 10:30 AM in Gurukripa Hall.

The session will be led by Mr. Rajan Thomas, Junior Research Officer, EMMRC, University of Calicut, who will introduce students and faculty members to the SWAYAM platform and the wide range of Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) offered by premier institutions across India.

The programme aims to familiarize participants with the benefits of online learning, including access to quality educational resources, opportunities to enhance academic and professional skills, and the possibility of earning credits and certificates through SWAYAM courses. The session will also provide practical guidance on course registration, enrollment procedures, and effective utilization of the platform.

The programme is coordinated by Mr. Binu Udayakumar, Assistant Professor in Commerce and College-level MOOC Coordinator, under the guidance of Dr. S. Dhiva, IQAC Coordinator, with the support of the SNCA SWAYAM Team. The event is open to UG and PG students as well as faculty members, and all interested participants are invited to attend and explore the opportunities offered by digital learning.

Orientation Programme on SWAYAM Platform and MOOCs Conducted at Sree Narayana College

Alathur, July 10: Sree Narayana College, Alathur, successfully organized an orientation programme titled “Introduction to SWAYAM Platform and MOOCs” at Gurukripa Hall on 10 July 2026. The programme was organized by the SNCA SWAYAM Team in association with the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) with the objective of familiarising students and faculty members with the opportunities offered through the SWAYAM platform and Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs).

The programme commenced with a welcome address by Shri. Devadas V., Head of the Department of Mathematics. The session was presided over by Dr. R. Bindu, Principal-in-Charge.

The keynote sessions were delivered by Shri. Rajan Thomas, Junior Research Officer, EMMRC, University of Calicut, and Dr. Jayasree S., Course Coordinator (Animal Biotechnology) and Retired Professor, Mercy College, Palakkad. The speakers highlighted the significance of online learning platforms, the features and benefits of SWAYAM courses, credit transfer mechanisms, and the immense opportunities available to students through MOOCs.

The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from UG and PG students and faculty members, who actively interacted with the resource persons and gained valuable insights into digital learning and skill enhancement.

Dr. S. Dhiva, IQAC Coordinator, and Dr. Sowmya C. S., Senate Member, offered felicitations, appreciating the initiative for promoting technology-enabled education and lifelong learning.

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Sumesh R. V., Head of the Department of Chemistry, who expressed gratitude to the resource persons, organisers, and participants for making the event a grand success.

The orientation programme reaffirmed the college’s commitment to fostering digital literacy and encouraging students to explore the vast academic opportunities available through the SWAYAM platform and MOOCs.
