Valliyode, September 16, 2026: St. Mary’s Polytechnic College, Valliyode, Palakkad, in association with the Nature Club and IQAC, organised a seminar in connection with World Ozone Day on 16 September 2026 at 1.30 p.m. at the College Auditorium.
The seminar was organised on the theme “Global Action for a Cooler Planet”, highlighting the importance of collective efforts towards protecting the ozone layer and promoting environmental sustainability. The programme carried the message “Save Ozone • Save Life”, emphasising the significance of ozone protection for a healthy environment.
Dr. Araty Sasikumar, Associate Professor of Zoology, Sree Narayana College, Alathur, served as the resource person for the seminar. She addressed the participants on the importance of ozone protection and the need for greater environmental awareness and responsible action.
The programme provided students with an opportunity to understand the significance of the ozone layer and the importance of collective environmental action. The seminar also encouraged students to develop greater awareness of environmental protection and sustainable practices.
The event was organised with the support of the Nature Club and IQAC of St. Mary’s Polytechnic College, contributing to the institution’s efforts to promote environmental awareness among students.
