“Pledge of Cleanliness”
On November 01, 2024, Sree Narayana College’s NSS unit in Alathur committed to cleanliness in honor of Kerala Piravi Day. A large number of students, NSS volunteers, and teachers from various Departments participated in the cleanliness drive.
Smt. Praveena Vijayan, the honorable Principal, proclaimed the college to be “Haritha Kalalayam” and instructed all students taking part in the program to be mindful of the campus’s cleanliness. Students were given special instructions to ensure that the waste-free Nava-Kerala project could attain its maximum potential. Also gave instructions to make all the students participating in the program aware of the cleanliness of the campus. Special instructions were given to the students so that the waste-free Nava-Kerala Mission reaches its full potential. It was also advised to avoid littering of food and plastic waste in college and public places. It has also been suggested to avoid careless disposal of plastic waste as well as food waste. The students were asked to take it as their responsibility to make our country, which includes home and college, free from garbage and work for a garbage-free new Kerala every day and maintain the green beauty of their college. As part of “Harita Kalalayam” activities, advice and instructions were given to clean the college premises and start a very extensive making of vegetable garden in the college. Finally, Aleena K, second-year NSS volunteer, and student of BA Functional English, administered the pledge of cleanliness to all.
