  • “Anti-Drug Awareness Class”

National Service Scheme Units (37 & 117) of Sree Narayana College, Alathur, and Excise Circle Office, Alathur organized an “Anti-Drug Awareness Class” on November 1, 2024. The program was presided over by Honorable Principal Smt. Praveena Vijayan used this opportunity to tell the students about the negative impacts of drug abuse and how it affects student’s mental and physical health. Dr. Sreejith Krishnan, NSS Program Officer and Assistant Professor of Physics, delivered the welcome address for the program. Sri. R. Mohan Kumar, Excise Circle Inspector Alathur, inaugurated the Anti-Drug Awareness Class. Sri. Mohan Kumar added in his speech that children should not fall into the trap of drugs and understand that everyone must maintain a healthy diet and exercise daily for a better future.
Dr Soumya C S, Senate Member, University of Calicut and Sri. Devadas V, Assistant Professor of Mathematics, delivered the felicitation speech.

Smt. T P Usha, a Woman Civil Excise Officer, discussed the students’ aware of drug addiction and many physical and mental problems associated with drug usage. It also mentioned that addiction to drugs hurts student’s education. The students raised many doubts and questions throughout the feedback session and Smt. T P Usha provided detailed and concise answers to each one.

NSS volunteer Abhinandhana concluded the program by thanking Smt. T P Usha for taking an awareness class about drug abuse and all who participated in the program.
