FLASHMOB WITH MEGA CLEANING
The NSS Unit 37/177 of Sree Narayana College, Alathur, organized a unique and engaging program that combined entertainment, education, and community service. The event, “FLASHMOB WITH MEGA CLEANLINESS,” aimed to promote cleanliness and hygiene in the community while also raising awareness about the importance of a healthy environment. It was held at Taluk Hospital Alathur and was a huge success.
The event began with a welcome speech by Jyothiraj K.V., JR Health Inspector, Taluk Hospital Alathur, and Chairman Shaji B., Health Supervisor, CHC Pazhambalakode. Dr. Ajaykumar, Superintendent, of Alathur Taluk Hospital, inaugurated the program.
The NSS volunteers conducted a flash mob, a high-energy performance that drew the public’s attention. As part of the mega-cleaning event, the volunteers also cleaned the surroundings of Alathur Taluk Hospital.
In addition to the cleaning event, The NSS volunteers conducted a signature campaign against anti-drug awareness on tobacco. The NSS volunteers educated the public about the dangers of tobacco consumption and collected signatures from people pledging their support for a tobacco-free community.
The event was attended by several dignitaries, including Sri Jayaprakash, Rotary International Alathur; Sri K.K. Suresh, President, Government Employees Society Alathur; and Sri Anilkumar, Secretary, Taluk Hospital Alathur. Smt. Sreedhanya, NSS Programme Officer, Dr. Sreejith Krishnan, NSS Programme Officer, and Smt. Praveena Vijayan, Principal, Sree Narayana College, Alathur, also graced the occasion.
The program ended at 1:00 p.m. The NSS volunteers received a memento from the Hospital Administration as a token of appreciation for our efforts. The members of the Hospital Administration also provided refreshments to the volunteers. The event was a great learning experience for the students, who gained valuable insights into the importance of community service and teamwork. It was a fun and engaging way for the students to give back to their community.
