Report on the Orientation Session for FYUGP 2025 Admission Batch

An orientation session for the FYUGP 2025 admission batch was organized on 13th August 2025 at 10:00 AM at Gurukripa Hall Sree Narayana College, Alathur. The event was jointly conducted by the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) in association with the tutorial Committee, FYUGP Monitoring Committee, UG Monitoring Committee, and the Academic Monitoring Cell of the college.

The session aimed to familiarize the newly admitted undergraduate students with the Four-Year Undergraduate Programme (FYUGP) structure, academic expectations, and support systems in place at the institution.The program commenced with a welcome address by Dr. S. Dhiva, IQAC Coordinator, who emphasized the importance of orientation in helping students transition smoothly into college life.The event was presided over by Smt. Praveena Vijayan Principal of the college, who in her presidential address highlighted the college’s commitment to academic excellence and holistic development.The session was formally inaugurated by Sri A.N. Anurag, Management Representative and RDC Convenor, who reiterated the pivotal role of the new academic structure in shaping responsible and capable graduates.The keynote address was delivered by Dr. R. Raveendran, Principal (Retired), S.N. College, Sivagiri and Special Officer (Academics), Sree Narayana Trusts, Kollam. Dr. Raveendran provided deep insights into the FYUGP framework, stressing the importance of interdisciplinary learning, skill development, and value-based education.The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Araty Sasikumar, FYUGP Monitoring Committee Coordinator, who expressed gratitude to the dignitaries, organizing committees, faculty, and students for their active participation and support in making the program a success.
The orientation session served as an enlightening and motivational beginning for the first-year students, setting a positive tone for their academic journey ahead.
