The PG Department of English, Sree Narayana College, Alathur, in association with IQAC, organized a Media Visit to Ahalia FM 90.4, Palakkad, on 24 February 2026.
The visit was arranged with the objective of providing students with practical exposure to the functioning of a radio station and enhancing their understanding of media communication. During the visit, students were introduced to various aspects of radio broadcasting, including programme production, scripting, sound recording, editing, and live transmission processes.
The team at Ahalia FM 90.4 interacted with the students and explained the technical and creative dimensions involved in radio journalism and content creation. The visit offered valuable insights into career opportunities in media and communication fields, making it a highly enriching learning experience.
The programme was conducted under the guidance of Dr. Praveena Vijayan, Principal, and coordinated by Dr. S. Dhiva, IQAC Coordinator. The initiative was led by Remya Rajan E., Head of the Department of English.
The media visit proved to be an informative and engaging experience, bridging classroom learning with real-world media practices.
