Sree Narayana College Alathur to Host Workshop on Academic Writing

Alathur: The PG Department of English, Sree Narayana College, Alathur, in association with IQAC and the Literary Club, is set to organize an academic workshop titled “Reverberations ’25” on September 29, 2025. The programme will begin at 10 AM at Gurukripa Hall.

The workshop will be led by Dr. Aiswarya S Babu, Associate Professor of English, Pondicherry University, who will share her expertise in academic writing with the students and faculty. The event aims to enhance participants’ skills in scholarly writing and research communication.

The programme is coordinated under the leadership of Principal Praveena Vijayan. Dr. Dhiva S (IQAC Coordinator), Remya Rajan E (Head of the Department), and Kalyani Shaji (Staff Coordinator) are actively involved in the planning and execution of the event.

The workshop is expected to provide valuable insights into the nuances of academic writing, benefitting postgraduate students and research aspirants of the college.


Reverberations ’25 and Honouring Ceremony

The PG Department of English, Sree Narayana College, Alathur, in association with the Literary Club, organized Reverberations ’25 — a Workshop on Academic Writing — on 29th September 2025 at Gurukripa Hall. The event also featured an Honouring Ceremony felicitating Sumayya J. A., Third Rank Holder in B.A. Functional English (2022–25 Batch) under the University of Calicut, who secured 82.42% (A Grade).

The programme commenced at 9:30 AM with the Honouring Ceremony, where Sumayya J. A. was recognized for her outstanding academic achievement.

Following this, the inaugural session of Reverberations ’25 began at 10:00 AM with a prayer. Ms. Kalyani Shaji, Assistant Professor, Department of English, delivered the welcome address. Ms. Remya Rajan E., Head of the Department of English, presided over the function, while Smt. Praveena Vijayan, Principal, inaugurated the event. The chief guest, Dr. Aishwarya S. Babu, Associate Professor of English, Pondicherry University, addressed the gathering and highlighted the importance of clarity, structure, and originality in academic writing.

Felicitations were offered by Dr. S. Dhiva (IQAC Coordinator and Head, Department of Microbiology). Ardra Haridas of II B.A. Functional English proposed the vote of thanks.

The technical session, conducted by Dr. Aishwarya S. Babu, began at 11:00 AM. The workshop offered valuable insights into the process of academic writing, including thesis formulation, citation practices, and scholarly style. The interactive nature of the session helped participants refine their writing skills and gain practical guidance for research-based work.

Reverberations ’25 proved to be an intellectually enriching experience, inspiring students to pursue academic excellence and uphold the standards of scholarly writing.
