Report on Anti-Ragging Day Awareness Program

1. Introduction

The NCC unit of Sree Narayana College, Alathur, in collaboration with the Anti-Ragging Committee, Anti-Ragging Squad, and IQAC, conducted an Anti-Ragging Day Awareness Program on 14 August 2025. The initiative aimed to create awareness among students about the harmful effects of ragging and to promote a safe, respectful, and inclusive campus environment.

2. Objectives

• To educate students about the legal, ethical, and social implications of ragging.
• To promote values of respect, empathy, and cooperation among peers.
• To encourage student participation in anti-ragging initiatives.

3. Program Details

The program featured three main events:

1. Slogan Writing – Students expressed their anti-ragging messages through creative and impactful slogans.
2. Poster Making – Participants showcased artistic skills while spreading awareness on the ill effects of ragging.
3. Debate Competition – Students engaged in a constructive debate highlighting preventive measures and the importance of mutual respect on campus.

NCC cadets, faculty members, and students actively participated, making the event a success. Informative sessions also highlighted UGC regulations and helpline details for reporting ragging incidents.

4. Outcomes

• Increased awareness among students about anti-ragging laws and support systems.
• Improved student engagement in creating a positive campus culture.
• Strengthened collaboration between NCC and college committees for student welfare.

5. Conclusion

The Anti-Ragging Day Awareness Program effectively conveyed the message of “Say No to Ragging”. It reinforced the institution’s commitment to maintaining a safe and inclusive environment, ensuring that students feel respected, valued, and protected.
