The National Service Scheme (NSS) Units 37 and 117 of Sree Narayana College, Alathur, organized a World AIDS Day Awareness Programme on 1 December 2025 at Erattakulam Junction. The event aimed to spread awareness on the year’s theme, “Take the Rights Path: My Health, My Right!”, emphasizing the importance of health rights, safe practices, and stigma-free communities.
The programme began with an introduction to the significance of World AIDS Day, highlighting the global efforts to prevent HIV/AIDS and support affected individuals. NSS volunteers actively participated by distributing awareness leaflets, engaging with the public, and encouraging discussions on preventive measures, early testing, and the importance of compassion toward people living with HIV.
Visual displays and symbolic red-ribbon activities were conducted to reinforce the message of solidarity. The event successfully conveyed the importance of informed choices, responsible health practices, and the collective responsibility of society in eliminating discrimination related to HIV/AIDS.
The initiative reflected the commitment of Sree Narayana College, Alathur, and its NSS units in promoting public health awareness and fostering a socially responsible community.
