Environment day is celebrated worldwide on 5th June to create awareness among people about protecting the environment. The first-ever Environment Day was held in 1973. Environment Day acts as a platform that helps create awareness about various issues that have adverse effects on the environment, like global warming, overpopulation, pollution, and crime against wildlife. The theme for World Environment Day 2024 is “Land Restoration, Desertification and Drought Resilience.” “Our Land, Our future .This year our Department celebrated Environment day as a one day seminar on “Generation restoration of biodiversity “ by Gayathridas S and Sreya MB , students of Ist year B.Sc Botany of our college . This programme was  inaugurated by Dr. NS Rajendran , Principal S N College ,Alathur ,, Palakkad and  welcome address was given by Dr. R. Bindu , HOD , Department of Botany and felicitation given by Dr. Praseeja Cheruparambath , Assistant Professor , Department of Zoology . The students of our department planted medicinal plants in the campus . Today we have distributed few tree sampling to our students
